HAPPY 2011 GUYS!
WE MADE IT!!
It's been an eventful year and we've all worked hard towards it. Now give yourself a pat on the back and just sit still while I do a review in the year post! :) Perhaps some people had a worse year than the others, but if you're reading this, you're still here to remember the good bits, right? And there's always a chance to make 2011 a better year! lol.
January
Haiti earthquake- January 12th.
This one is nothing to celebrate. The earthquake was magnitude 7.0 just west of Haiti's capital, Port-au-Prince and had one of the highest death toll records with a total of 230,000+ killed. Everyone rushes in to help!
February
2010 Vancouver Olympics- February 12-28.
Yay! The whole focus of the world's sports and events was brought to the very city I live in! I actually went to the torch relay (Richmond OZone!) in my neck of the woods but the facebook pictures seem to be down.. I don't have permission from other people at this point to take their pictures either lol.
March
The Kasubi Tombs are destroyed by a fire- March 16th.
The other big event isn't a bright one either.. This was Uganda's only cultural World Heritage Site too. ):
In other news..
The ROKS Cheonan, a South Korean Navy ship carrying 104 personnel, sinks off the country's west coast, killing 46. In May, an independent investigation blames North Korea, which denies the allegations- March 23rd.
And...
I GOT A NEW BASS!
Ibanez SR505 5-stringed GOODNESS. SO DERICIOUS! More info here.
April
Mountain Eyjafjallajökull erupts- April 14th
News people and people around the world are shocked that the big volcano eruption is of an Icelandic mountain no one knows. Besides that, we have no fuckin' clue how that is pronounced ಠ_ಠ.
May
The EuroZone and International Monetary Fund agree on giving a €110-billion bailout package to Greece- May 2nd.
In other words, Greece being broke as fuck is given money but at the same time forced to be on very low budgets with the package.
In other news..
On the same day that I turn 14(!), the painting Nude, Green Leaves, and Bust by Pablo Picasso is sold for US$106 million, one of the highest priced paintings next to the others.
June
The 2010 Fifa World Cup is held - June 11th to July 11th.
The 19th World Cup is held in South Africa :D! The winner being Spain. I remember watching these matches in school, it was fun.
In other news..
SCHOOL IS FUCKIN' OUT!!!!!-June 16th
The day highschooler's rejoice! I actually don't remember what I did that day. But I came back to school for the rest of that week to do work so it doesn't matter.
July
The first 24-hour solar-powered aircraft flight sets off-July 8th.
This one is cute so I decided to keep it in :D. The plane is called Solar Impulse and from an airfield in Switzerland.
September
There was a landslide in Mexico but I don't want to talk about sad stuff anymore. Let's cut to good part :)!
I created, and started up this blog- September 3rd.
My intro post is here if you want to read it. The picture up there is the one I used in my first post :).
In other news..
School started on September 4th. Rejoice :|. I resumed school as a 9th grader..Etc. :P.
October
33 miners trapped underground in Copiapo, Chile are rescued- October 33rd.
The miners being 700 meters underground due to a mining accident are rescued after a record 69 days! Happy moment for everyone :).
November
The G-20 Summit is held in Seoul, South Korea - November 11-12
To the ones who don't follow politics (I don't either, no worries), the G-20 summit is a meeting of heads of governments where they discuss politics and world issues etc. Korea, not being in their circle (G8) was the first of its kind to have the summit held there.
December
The first total lunar eclipse to occur on the day of northern winter solstice/southern summer solstice- December 21st.
This is actually the first one since 1638!! The next one won't be coming soon either..
This is my conclusion of 2010!!
I hope you had a good one!!
I'm not done with my post yet. HAH! Did you guys have any resolutions? Everyone knows that close to 0% of the people that hope to make their resolution go through properly forget about it and just say, meh, that just means a resolution for next year! My resolution was to learn how to play go, a board game (wei qi for the Chinese and baduk for the Koreans.)
AND I DID!
On the last day of 2010. I finished my resolution. I am a happy man.
As for my resolutions for 2011.. Just the regular for now:
- Work hard in school
- MAKE MONEY THROUGH TUTORING!
- Get better at bass & sax
-BE A GOOD BLOGGER.
And all that jazz :P~
I'll post everything else I've been meaning to post in the next entry, probably the last one before school starts.. This is 2 extremely long and draining posts in a row.. Well, see you in the new year!
This is actually 3 pictures on top of each other, flipped. You guys see my efforts now? ;_; |
