This post starts with a picture of the.. Sea!

-Slug's cooking adventures in the sea
Well, as you can see, my summer did not include any beaches, but I did see the Pacific Ocean, a dike, and a few small rivers. This post will be fairly long and will be a picture dump post. I'll try my best to put context in it though.
The reason why I have all these pictures and things to show and tell is because I planned to put these on my old blog, but just gave up on the idea all together so there's a whole dump of stuff.
Here's where I'll start:

Here's where I'll start:
Dragon Boats.
I really think this was just when school was out.. Around late June? Maybe even before school was out? Was this even part of summer!?
Many..days ago, on a boring Sunday, my mom was talking about this annual dragon boat festival, so of course, we went :P :

Here's a picture of the boats, there were a quite a few teams? I think around 12 go to race (please correct me if I am wrong) and there are a few rounds. I remember one team being a seniors team and winning 1st place for one of the rounds (maybe even as 1st place out of all the races this year, don't look down on elderly people!)
Picture of me making some sort of happy asian face.
Next, I'd like to talk about my adventures in Victoria (Vancouver island) with my bro and dad. Right off the coast of Vancouver, which is ON the coast lol. We took a morning ferry around 7-8AM? I remember only sleeping for 4 hours that night resulting in me sleeping through most of the ferry ride.
Here's a picture of the whale's fin (on the boat)
I'M ON A BOAT!
Sitting on the ferry.
Damn ferry ride wasn't too long (about 3 hours or so), but the food was shitty as fuck.
I really like the deer on the coat of arms:
Picture via google- don't sue my ass please.
Fuckin' deer knows how to rock it out lol.
Our encounter with a HORSE! :DD
Totem pole to represent the culture of my country which has been stepped on and built over by immigrants now(I don't mean to offend anyone -cough-).
Last picture is a family picture with some nice bg, small eyes, and smiling faces
My next adventure is from SFU, a university near my city.
Again, with my bro and dad (my sister was in school and my mom was at work). My bro had to take some sort of exam so my dad and I explored the area for like 2 hours?
Here's the center of the area:
I'm copying Daphne's idea of face censorship. It's still in beta mode, but I've incorporated privacy and some ghost in the shell lulz. (If you don't get it you fail).
There's an icecream vending machine in there!! I WANT ONE IN MY SCHOOL LOL. My dad took the picture because my bro's tongue was stuck to the popsicle and we were laughing lol..
Building ceiling.. In a more secluded area of the university.
It was a nice experience since I'd never really entered a university and explored before. There were still a lot of students due to summer courses, and there was stuff that is out of the highschool range like their student radio and a swimming pool and that kinda stuff.
With those said, the next bit is about my COOKING ADVENTURES! I did some cooking with Daphne and Joyce too but I don't have pics and my post is getting very long, so I'll just talk about these. Somewhere in July, I made some banana bread because our bananas were too scary to eat normally and not completely rotten.
Basically, my mom just wanted me to get rid of them so I made some banana bread:

The recipe I copied onto some paper, I stuck it on the fridge for future use.
Mashed banana + butter
+flour
MIXTUURREE
Ready to bake.
Done.
Next was something I made yesterday because I was bored, this one is short. You know those recipes on the backs of food products? I've always wanted to try them since they looked really easy and I did yesterday:
As it says: "Super Easy Peanut Butter Cookies". Mine weren't really fully peanut butter since my sister insisted that I put nutella in there, so it was a half half sorta thing. Tasted like reese peanut butter cups :).
Process
+eggs
on baking sheet
This was taken just now, so there's only one left. I know it looks like a flattened out piece of shit, but I followed the recipe carefully and they were delicious..so THAT'S ALL THAT MATTERS! LOL.
I guess this is the end of todays post, though if I find anything I really feel like sharing I will post it since I think it's ok if I do double posts 2 days in a row..? OR I CAN JUST POST TMR.
And for those who like those nice pictures that I posted before this with the pretty arts, I will mostly post those in the future since I don't get the camera and it's cable out very often XD.
I shall end this post with a picture of some DERICIOUS coke that I bought today.
Fuck yeah, $1 any size soft drink promotion!!
I feel like you did more this summer than I did.
ReplyDeleteI really wanted to bake stuff :\
