Zombie Apocalypse

So shiny *U*. Artist: 108
Hi guys, I'm going to cut the corners again. No double post today. Here's my music intro.......Now..?
Today's song is... Yes, back to jazz.

Someone needs to tell me to stop sharing the same stuff. Oh well, it's a good song so it's fine :). The artist is SOIL & "PIMP" Sessions again. The song is called "MY FOOLISH HEART ~crazy in mind~" I think there's a version called "~crazy on earth~" with Shiina Ringo in it. Yup. Youtube link goes here. Anyways, good stuff. Jazz group. Click the "again" and I probably talk about them more. DO IT.

Today's topic was selected by Dapner since writing an interesting post everyday isn't as easy as you think. And also because I'm not creative enough to conjure up my own today. Today's topic. Something popular in music, films, books, and in general pop culture. Children to adults know what they are and everyone has their own explanation for it. They're dead..but they're alive lol. That's right-- ZOMBIES.
I actually had to look this up before I could bring my own opinions into it. But wiki basically says that zombies are reanimated corpses that are being controlled usually by magic. Also that zombies have more recently been explained with a pandemic. I don't want to bore you guys with the whole history of zombies so I'll start where it became famous in the late 60's with George A. Romero's Night of the Living Dead. Certainly you have heard this title, no?

(Top left to right: Michael Jackson's "Thriller" (music video), Left 4 Dead (videogame), Pride and Prejudice and Zombies (novel), Highschool of the Dead (comic book), Night of the Living Dead (film).)

There you have it. My 5 examples of zombies and their influence in pop culture. These look familiar, eh? I guess zombies are something more common in life than we think :).
Now here's my take on zombies that has been wonderfully demonstrated in the popular game in the series, Resident Evil 4 (film link goes here). In the game, the people turn into zombies because they have PARASITES. This is logical and the explanation I would usually give about zombies. There are parasites that turn people into zombie-like.. things. However, with some googling I found a cool article about our very own interesting parasite! (There are no pictures, but it relates to real life, so if you're scared of parasites and dead rats, think twice about ..reading..I guess.) So we're not going to have a zombie apocalypse yet. There are actually many theories that can explain how zombie apocalypses would be logical. It'd actually done here. I really recommend you to read it..Might be a little frightening, but think about the topic for god sakes, how CAN'T it be lol. I love lists and this is a great one. Actually that most of them relate to diseases humans could get that lead them to zombie-like behavior (mad cow disease) and other scientific researches done with humans AND TECHNOLOGY (last one is fuckin' creepy). There really is no limit, eh?
Although the chances of a zombie apocalypse may not be close to winning a lottery ticket .. I actually don't know. Either way you'll get up and start screaming :).
I hope all of you guys have a great night and ponder about my discussion. Please remember that I am probably more scared of zombies than you. So don't think that you're so special >:( haha.
Goodnight world!~
Hey guys! It's a floating classroom!! You get a cookie if you get my reference

Reading! I can do it too!

Multitasking :). The way I do it. This is from Sore demo Machi wa Mawatteiru. Arist: Naotan

GOOD EVENING, world! I have an interesting topic that has come to me after I sat at home with a "book" for the first time in..well, a while. Haven't sat so still in my swivel chair since school started. But first is music intro!

Today's song is... Math rock!

Post-rock as well. The band is toe and the song is called "C". I know lately I haven't been putting a lot of thought into what I post up, but this is a really inspirational band and this time I mean it. The riffs are intricate and the drums really draw you in; not a moment is wasted in these songs. Ladies and gentlemen, I present you, something I am really proud to call math rock (MAH FAVOURITE GENRE). I'll refer to this band often (I've already did so..) please bear with me? :)

So the topic that was brought to my attention was.. Literacy. That's right. What I lack the most ROFL. I know international literacy has improved within this decade since we're trying to reach our arms out and share the education, but (more or less than) 796 million adults (15+) are unable to read or write. Aw man.. And to think that 131 million or so kids around my age (youth) are unable to do so either. I know that it depends on how much the country can provide for their people and that is very reasonable. But we live in a modern civilization now where reading and writing is almost something that.. people naturally expect out of others. The most ridiculous bit is that some of these illiterate people are living in Canada.. The very country I receive my education from. W-Wait a minute, HOW DOES THAT WORK!? Canada is actually standing around 8th or 9th place on the literacy scales. Which is great, but even 40% of our adults don't have strong literacy skills. I can see how that works with immigrants and late learners because education for adults isn't always the cheapest thing. Hopefully the youth will become strong and literate for the future. Well, that I can only hope. And depend on statistics lol.

I wanted to talk about my experiences with reading and er.. books in general. I don't read often nowadays. Don't know how it happened, when did it start? Why? I can't remember. But ever since I was in grade 3 I was REALLY REALLY INTO BOOKS (HENCE MY SUPER GREAT CHOICE OF WORDS). Yes, back when we called novels "chapter books" and anything with more than 100 pages was an "impossible" book. I really liked to read and challenge myself with novels and THEIR TEXTS. But you know how all the interesting books are always in the adult section? And even when you know that they might not be interesting, the fact that you don't touch that section of the library is already enough to make you curious. I read some adult books, some were too hard for me to comprehend. And then I just took a really long book break. This was the summer of grade 6 I think. WHEN I DISCOVERED MANGA! Comics. I love them. Illustrations are great ways to make people interested in reading. Sometimes I don't remember that I'm being educated while I read that shit (Depends on what you're reading). So next time you read a comic book (Watchmen is a good example, shit is hard) and someone tells you that you're not actually learning anything from it, stand up and say "BULL SHIT!" because comics have their own value as well. Unless you're reading some dumb shit, then there's nothing to defend. Just quietly run along and finish your homework or whatever you were supposed to do.
I borrowed manga from a friend today (Nichijou- 日常- Daily if you're curious). And I just sat at home until I finished it. Manga is nice, it has words and pictures so it's not hard on my brain, and it's short so I can finish the book quickly and continue with my life. I'm actually a really slow reader.. I swear I read a lot faster back in the -cough- day. I learned how to read Japanese from manga. Well, not exactly, but I definitely couldn't have honed my skills to what I have today without manga. Thank god for manga and literacy! Last but not least, communication has sure brought us together, eh? :)
Goodnight World!

Sorry for missing Literary Day by a few..er..-cough- days. Here's another reading picture I found in my magic folder.
It's from Shinkai Makoto's 5 cm per second.

Are You Living or Existing?

Anyone else think this picture is spooky? Lol.. Artist: Arsenixc

Slaughter. My hands do not shake.
Laughter. It creeps out of my lips.
Remorse. The feeling that I seek.
Happiness. Though I show no smile.
Shame. That I feel none.
Cold. My toes give an involuntary wiggle.
Warm. I feel so alive.

Sup, world! I..Was thinking of a movie.. I.. Somebody stop me from writing this stuff. I have no knack for it but I'm still trying. You never know..Until you..Try?
Maybe I should've tried to match up the picture and whatever composition I wrote. But you can always use your imagination.
Guess what, no music intro today. I only have another jazz song in my magic folder and I don't want to overshare..
I'd like to bring in a topic today that I saw on one of those billboards.. The ones where you put the letters individually. It was infront of a church and it read this:
"Are you living or existing?"
Quite a simple sentence. Some would take a quick glance and maybe chuckle at the question even. I thought about it for a while.. Most people are just existing, but how many people are LIVING? What does it mean to Live? For most people living means existing with a purpose. Then how many have a purpose? How many have found that purpose? I hope you think about this hard and come with a conclusion. Hopefully this conclusion will make you live positively though. Well, as for me, I'm only existing. For now that is.
Goodnight World.

So Contradictory That It Totals To Zero

It's 108-fever! Here's a cool wintery picture. I LOVE WINTER! Artist: 108
2:19. I listen to my mom raging about my sister clogging the toilet. My brother joins. IT'S MADNESS. Not quite madness because this sort of thing happens daily in my house. Just thought I'd share that instead of a regular intro. -Ahem-
GOOD..EVENING, WORLD!

Sometimes I feel like my life could be put into a vlog. Then I ask myself this: "Would it be an interesting one?" "How would I title my videos?" "Would I get subscribers?". Then I come to a quick conclusion that I just shouldn't make vlogs. That was fast.
You can see my gradual progression as I get lazier with each daily post, today I'm not even going to bother sharing a song. THAT'S RIGHT. NO DAILY SONG, GUYS! I say "that's right" way too often now. Actually..Wait. I dug up something here.. Lemme put it up.
Today's song is... JAZZ~!

Oh yes! After the absence of what, 3-4 posts with no jazz, it makes its comeback. With a rather cheesy song. The artists are Marcus Miller with Corrine Bailey Rae on vocals. The song is called "Free". Do you remember when she debuted?! It was a while back.. She had this really famous song er..I'm rambling now so I better stop. This song is one of those "feel good" ones. I think. There's lots of smooth slap bass, clean female vocals, and a saxophone solo. What more do you ask for? lol. It's a nice song. Well, if I'm featuring it, of COURSE it is! HEH!
So I started off topic, had no topic, started with my "THAT'S RIGHT!" and then contradicted myself, AGAIN. Gosh, I'm not getting anywhere and I'm not even going to edit that bit out. I have nothing to say because I have no inspiration. That's probably because I woke up at 12 and took a nap at 2. Sat on my porch and watched a movie based on Columbine after. Now that I think about it. MY DAY WAS FULL OF HIDDEN INSPIRATIONS! I'm just trying to make excuses for myself. Btw Gus Van Sant is a GREAT director, go watch his movies! If you didn't get that, it's probably because you didn't CLICK MY LINK. I always think that people who can name 10 directors are movie snobs. Makes sense since I was a movie snob not too long ago. I still have a lot I want to watch though.
Man, my posts have been rubbish lately. But it would be so wrong to end it here. I'd like to apologize to everyone for offending them in anyway, and wasting their time.
Goodnight world.

GO BACK TO SLEEP

AWESOME PICTURE! This has to be one of my favourite artists next to Arsenixc. Artist: 108
Greetings one and all! I think it should be okay if I just... -cough- bend the rules sometimes :). Since Dapner isn't following the rules anymore HEH. So I'm gonna NOT double post today and start with this catchy tune I've been thinking about a lot in the late..
Today's song is.. Er.. I'm pretty sure it's pop.

So, today's song is actually a cover.. There's a lot I'd like to explain but I think it'd bore everyone so if you want any extra info just.. ask me later or feel free to GOOGLE IT! The song is called "World's End Umbrella" and it was written by "Hachi", this mix is by the glasses guy in perfumen. Here's the original.. If you have no idea what I was talking about, it's alright, just listen to the song then. This was stuck in my head and I couldn't get it out so I decided to share it lol.. The lyrics tell a story about a world with an umbrella covering it.. And these 2 crazy kids decide to get above the umbrella and see the real world. If you see any special symbolism good for you! All songs have a special meaning behind them (e.g. California Gurls, Tick Tock, OMG). You know :).
Today I shall talk about my past school day experiences. I've been sick for a while now.. Fuck, when I mean a while I mean 4 days or so.. I hope I get better soon. DAMN BLOGGING MAKING ME STAY UP FUUUUUUUUU!!!!!! BLOGGING IS LIKE MY NAGGING WIFE TELLING ME TO ALWAYS TUCK THEM KIDS IN AND FEED THEM AND SHIT. FUCK! WHERE'S MY FREE TIME!? CAN'T EVEN SLEEP 6+ HOURS!!
-cough- I'ma quick my raging now.
So a lot of this "sick me" included me being that awkward person coughing in class and blowing my nose in the silence of our classroom (why are we always so quiet??!). And then there was that time in PE when I sat in the empty giant gym. Just writing my English homework. I like the feeling of the big gym being all mine.. Despite it only being less than 72 minutes the room being mine, felt so warm and peaceful... Erm, anyways, the next PE class I had to "participate" or something and help set up and be a "REFEREE" since our substitute teacher was Adam Sandler... Just shorter and younger or something lol. So there was this other girl sitting out of class with me, except I don't think she was sick or had anything that held her back from participating, so I'm guessing she just didn't want to do anything. So we sat down and the first thing she says to me is "So..You're a grade eight?"
HOLY MOTHERFUCKING CUNT! WHAT THE FFF--WHAT?!
W-W-WAIT A FUCKING MINUTE!! So, we've been in the same grade for what, let's say 2 years now. And you still don't know me? ._. Is my presence that little? Really? And then after I helped her realize her mistake she even said, "Oh! that's weird, I know like, everyone in our grade". I literally wanted to facepalm. Why do I always run into these kinda people!? People that ignore people's existences and people that can't spell the word "Christ". Mah lawd.
To be honest it didn't offend me too much. I expected something like this to come along eventually. It's just that no one likes to be mistaken as a grade 8. Damn.
The rest of the 2 days were fine.. but that brings me to my interesting adventures of sleeping in class! YAY! SO INTERESTING! Something about my luck in sleeping in class this year is really bad, because all the times I've done it I'VE BEEN CAUGHT 'A'! I mean, usually I'm really good at sleeping in class, because I don't flat out put my hands on the desk and head on the tabletop. W-wait.. Except for that first time. My actual sleeping times were in science. 3rd block RIGHT before lunch. Which makes me the most anxious to get out of class or makes it impossible to lift my head off the table lol. I slept in reading period and the teacher just poked me and said "CHRISTA, IT'S NOT NAP TIME". Not bad, not bad. When we handed in introductory sheets in the first class I even wrote an extra note saying "If I fall asleep in class, I'm not trying to be rude, disrespectful, or show no interest in your topic." In this case it's the last one because reading block is so quiet and the classroom's atmosphere makes my eyelids heavy :P. The second time was an in and out thing, I fell into sleep and back out.. In out, In out. Then we reached the announcements. My final chance to shut my eyes and all shut out distractions in general. I remember thinking "Ok, I'm just going to close my eyes until the announcements are over, then I'll wake up and get onto what we're working on". A while later I heard my name being shouted. "CHRISTA, CHRISTA. WAKE UP!" OH SHIT!! IT WAS MY TEACHER. I got up all startled making that "WUT WUT???" face, shouting a flailing my arms (EXAGGERATION) while people around me were laughing. It ended quick and we just went on with whatever we were learning. Science so far is the most boring class EVAR. I know our inexperienced teacher is trying her best to make class interesting, BUT WE'RE NOT DOING SHIT!! I think all the other classes are actually starting on the units already. But all we're doing in going over how to set up pages and understanding the "Scientific method". Fuck that shit. I learned it in grade 7. Don't need to go over itttt~~ Just continue with whatever we're supposed to learn, in our case, us horny pubescent teens wanna see some reproduction going on. My excessive swear words today are from Dapner. Don't blame me, I feel inspired after hearing the word "fucktastic" next to "anal sex" in one paragraph of profanities.. I think this post contains enough characters to make 2 posts amirite? Then I'm done!

YO WORLD, I'M OUT. PEACE.
Here's another cool picture by the same artist! Artist: 108
